How our templates are built and kept up to date

Every template is drafted in plain English around the clauses commonly used for that type of document in the United States. Where a rule genuinely depends on the state, the template asks for your state and adapts the wording, or tells you plainly that the point varies by state so you know to check your local rules rather than assume a national answer.

Templates are reviewed and revised over time: each document page shows the date of its last editorial update. When a reader or a customer reports a problem, an outdated notice period, a rule that changed, unclear wording, we review the report and correct the template when the report checks out. You can send a report through the contact page: it is genuinely read.
